Dr. Omar Delannoy-Bruno earned his PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Microbial Pathogenesis, Washington University in St. Louis, where he later became a lecturer for Behavioral Ecology. At the same time, he also served as a lecturer at University of Puerto Rico for Biochemisty, and Biology.

His published research focuses on the effects of specific types and sources of fiber on the microbiome. He also studies the variable profiles of microbial communities in placentas from normal term pregnancy. In the works for Dr. Delannoy-Bruno: a study on a novel Bifidobacterium longum clade in in the gut of Bangladeshi children thrives during weaning.

Currently Dr.  Delannoy-Bruno is a Gut Microbiome Ecology Specialist for Société des Produits Nestlé S.A. that helps employ food ingredients to promote a healthy microbiome in children and adults.
