
Christina E. West
She is a Professor and Senior Consultant in Pediatrics at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Umeå University in Sweden, and holds the Chair in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Umeå University Hospital. With expertise in clinical trials and epidemiological studies, her research focuses on allergy, nutrition, and pre- and probiotics.
She currently leads multidisciplinary studies investigating the role of microbiota and microbiota modulation in non-communicable diseases. Her work includes ongoing national and international collaborations in the fields of nutrition, food allergy, microbiota, and immunology.
Additionally, she has served on several committees and has been the Chair of the World Allergy Organization's Barrier Disease Issues & the Microbiome Committee since 2023
