Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine National University of Singapore, Senior Consultant Obstetrician at the National University Hospital (Singapore), and Deputy Executive Director of the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (A*STAR)
She is presently a National Medical Research Council (Singapore) Clinician Scientist Awardee and Editorial Board member for Scientific Reports
Previously, she held a Health Foundation (UK) Clinician Scientist Fellowship and a Medical Research Council (MRC, UK) Clinical Training Fellowship
Her career awards include the William Blair-Bell Memorial Lectureship (RCOG, UK), Early Career Perkin-Elmer Award (Perinatal Research Society, USA), and Oral Plenary Prize (Medical Research Society Meeting for Trainee Clinician Scientists, UK)
With a special interest in Maternal Medicine, she runs the High-Risk Antenatal Clinic at the National University Hospital, Singapore
As a Clinician Scientist, she has established a research program, ranging from molecular biology to clinical trials, focusing on placental function, metabolic disorders in pregnancy, maternal nutritional interventions and impact on maternal and child outcomes
She has leading roles in Singapore’s birth cohorts (GUSTO, S-PRESTO) and conducts multicentred randomised controlled trials in preconception and pregnancy (e.g. TABLET, NiPPeR)
