In this presentation, Jose Saavedra discusses the importance of early nutrition and its consequences for later health. Nutrition in the first 100 days is really important as it impacts immune programming through epigenetic and nutrition also has an effect on microbiota that affects immune programming. Food preferences and dietary habits are programmed early in life and usually contribute to lifelong dietary patterns that once set are difficult to change. Bad nutrition patterns early in life contribute to the non-communicable disease epidemic.
