According to one of the most recent publications from FITS, the proportion of calories babies receive from produce actually decreases as they get older. “So even though a 4-year-old takes in 600 more calories a day than she did at 6 months, she’s not eating any more fruits or veggies,” says Kathleen Reidy, Head, Nutrition Science, Global R&D, Baby Foods and Global Project Leader, FITS.
