Early Nutrition Influence – Preventive and Therapeutic Aspects - Proceedings from NNI KOL Meeting Zone EMENA 2019
The importance of early nutrition for long-term health is becoming increasingly impressive. Nutrition is a decisive factor for growth and development, it influences the risk of life-threatening diseases and possible late damage. The situation of premature babies in particular reveals this connection like a magnifying glass. Latest research findings in this sensitive area provide indications of what measures could also be useful for mature babies. Following the discussions about protein, human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) have moved into the focus of science. After all, they appear to play a significant role in the positive effects of breast milk. The possibilities of supplementation with selected HMOs are still in their infancy, but the first results open up far-reaching perspectives for the future, while at the same time raising new questions.

Nestle Nutrition Institute 5th International Course on Oropharyngeal Dysphagia
The 5th International Course on Oropharyngeal Dysphagia was held on June 12-14, 2014, at the Hamamatsu-city Rehabilitation Hospital in Hamamatsu, Japan. The practical and didactic educational course provided a unique opportunity to strengthen the knowledge and network of clinicians. The program was designed by Chairs Pere Clavé MD PhD (Spain), Julie Cichero PhD SLP (Australia), and Ichiro Fujishima MD PhD (Japan) to help participants learn evidence-based methods of dysphagia patient management. Dysphagia is a growing issue and is a young and fast-developing science. Clinical complications and associated healthcare costs arise when the condition is poorly managed or undiagnosed. Thus, educating multidisciplinary clinicians on the state-of-the-art in dysphagia patient care enables healthcare practitioners to build competencies and acquire practical knowledge to help patients live well with dysphagia.
NNI Clinical Nutrition Course 2013
The Nestle Nutrition Institute Clinical Nutrition Course offers cutting edge medical nutrition education and for the first time parts of this international high quality were available to watch for free via an exclusive live webcast. The course was given by international leaders in clinical nutrition and the program Chairmen were professors Peter Soeters (The Netherlands), Remy Meier (Switzerland) and Ravinder Reddy (India).
The 4th International Course on Oropharyngeal Dysphagia
Dysphagia is a growing issue due to population demographics, and is a young and fast-developing science. Clinical complications and associated healthcare costs arise when the condition is poorly managed or undiagnosed. Thus, educating clinicians on science-based methods meets an important need of clinicians to build competencies in state-of-the-art dysphagia care to improve patient quality of life. The practical knowledge and access to validated tools that clinicians acquire through the course enable them to train all members of the multidisciplinary team and implement evidence-based, systematic methods of care in their country of practice.
