In this lecture,  Dr. Hidetaka Wakabayashi, Director of the Japan Association of Rehabilitation Hospital and Institution, will present how swallowing muscles are inevitably affected by malnutrition, the concept and definition of dysphagia due to sarcopenia (sarcopenic dysphagia), and Iatrogenic sarcopenia,  the currently known information on the diagnosis and treatment of sarcopenic dysphagia, and how to manage it.
