  • Prof. Yvan Vandenplas completed his medical studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and trained in pediatrics (1981-1986) at the same university

  • Founder and current consultant at "KidZ Health Castle", at the University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel
    • Chair of Pediatrics at the same Institution from 1994 to 2021
    • Associate editor of Nutrients
  • Main interests are functional gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux, colic and constipation, infant nutrition, focusing on probiotics, prebiotics, and cow's milk protein allergy
  • Authored over 500 publications listed in Pubmed and presented over 1000 talks at diverse international meetings
