Climate change is a growing concern, impacting food production and global supply chains due to extreme weather events like floods, droughts, and wildfires. To address this issue and reduce the environmental impact, there's a need to transition towards more plant-based diets as animal-based foods are significant contributors to greenhouse gas emissions. Education and promotion of sustainable and healthy eating habits, especially in children, play a vital role. Healthcare professionals, particularly those caring for children, have an important opportunity to shape the dietary choices of future generations by integrating nutrition education into routine healthcare.
