Dr Heine briefly summarised the findings of the TEDDY study, which characterised determinants of early microbiome development. Particular attention was paid to the influence of breast milk and 2’-fucosyllactose. This was followed by an analysis of microbiome data from the multicentre CINNAMON study, which investigated growth, tolerance, and safety of whey-based extensive hydrolysed formulas containing 2’-fucosyllactose and lacto-N-neotetraose in infants with CMPA.
