Marlou Lasschuijt
- Assistant professor in the Sensory Science and Eating Behaviour group at Wageningen University
- Received her BSc in Clinical Dietetics from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and her MSc in Nutrition Physiology and Health Status from Wageningen University
- Completed her PhD at Wageningen University where she studied sensory physiological systems involved in satiation
- During her post-doctorate, she worked with researchers from all technical universities in the Netherlands to develop novel technologies to measure food intake and eating behavior
- Her current research focuses on the link between eating behavior and physiology in healthy and clinical populations, and her research interests include:
- Food texture, eating behaviour and metabolic responses
- Early development of eating behaviour
- Optimization of early feeding experiences at the neonate intensive care unit
- Eating behavior of children with down syndrome
- Major achievements include:
- Society of ingestive behavior conference, best oral presentation award in 2016
- Society of ingestive behavior conference, young researcher award in 2018
- Selected for the European Nutrition Leadership Program in 2019
- Dutch nutrition academy conference, best poster pitch in 2019
- Junior Faculty Member European Nutrition Leadership Program in 2020
