Program description:

Nutrition during early years has a significant effect on the normal growth and development of the brain, and functioning of the immune system. The brain has a central role in supporting toddlers’ developmental progress in movements, vision, language skills or cognition. Adequate nutrition has a significant effect on brain growth and development during early years, influencing the developmental progress of toddlers.

Additionally, proper nutrition during toddlerhood, with adequate levels of nutrients that contribute to the normal function of the immune system, such as vitamins A,C, D, iron, zinc is key at this stage of life once immune system is undergoing through significant maturation.

Program Objectives:

  • Learn about immunity development and the role of certain nutrients on immunity
  • Understand brain growth and development and the importance of nutrition
  • Learn about developmental milestones in toddlers that will help ensure toddlers' equal right to thrive
