● Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the IRCCS San Raffaele University of Milan and involved in clinical practice, teaching and research in the areas of microbiome, gynecologic and urogenital infection diseases

● Completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Trieste where he worked with an internationally recognized group responsible for the first paper on the proteomic analysis of human cervico-vaginal fluids published in the journal, "Proteome Research" 

● Assistant Professor in the Gynecologic Infectious Disease Research Program at Des Moines University (Des Moines USA) in 2007 to 2010 (genomic and microbiomic studies in women who deliver prematurely) 

● Associated with the International prematurity research group organized by the World Health Organization PREBIC (Preterm Birth International Consortium) in 2016 

● Currently, he is continuing clinical studies and research on urinary tract infection, vaginitis and vaginosis with next generation sequencing methods 

● Scientific Director of “Permanent School on Human Microbiome”(Turin-Italy) since 2018 

● Member of ISIDOG (International Society for Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics and Gynecology), ISSVD (International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Diseases) and vice-president of SIMAST (Italian Society for Sexually Transmitted Infections) 

● Author or co-author of more than 130 published papers in PUBMED
