Summary

Prevalence of food allergy in increasing in the world and type of diet during complementary feeding can help children’s gut and immune system become tolerant to foods. Studies have been showing that early introduction of allergenic food can prevent food allergy, and that delaying their introduction probably increases the risk of food allergy. Emerging research supports a multiple food allergen introduction as part of an holistic approach for the introduction of solid foods.
