Exceptions were for total fat, vitamin B6, folate and selenium, where mean intakes fell below the AI. In addition, mean iron intakes were below the Recommended Nutrient Intake level for infants 6-11.9 months of age, indicating risk for inadequacy. Vitamin A intakes were above the AI for all age categories, and mean sodium intakes were 3-times higher than the AI of 700 mg/day for young children over 1 year of age.
