The serious problems associated with Preterm deliveries have been discussed in this newsletter. Since the maximum transfer of nutrients and their final addition to the development and functioning of organs of the baby takes place during the third trimester, a premature delivery deprives the infant of these developments and thus increases their risk and challenges for growth. Nutrition plays a major role in these cases. The infant needs to be provided with the essential nutritious environment even after the birth in order to catch-up. Undoubtedly, the mother’s nutrition and health also has a major influence in the development of the baby.
