This presentation examines the current literature in regards to protein requirements of the hospitalized patient. Data suggests that optimal protein intake for critically ill patients, obese patients and the elderly may be much higher than previously considered. Dr. Dickerson shares results of his work and others to discuss the most current recommendations for protein in the hospitalized patient.
