  • Eating Disorders during Adolescence

    Adolescence is a period of much physical and emotional development. It is not surprising therefore that most teenagers become preoccupied with their appearance. For example, as many as 75% of adolescent girls describe themselves as fat. Using strict clinical criteria [1], the prevalence among teenaged girls of anorexia nervosa is 1% and of bulimia, 5%.
