Nestlé Nutrition Young Investigator Research Development Award: NASPGHAN Foundation Report on a 13 Year Partnership

Since 1999, Nestle Nutrition has supported an annual nutrition research grant awarded to a member of the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology And Nutrition (NASPGHAN) through the NASPGHAN Foundation – a U.S. foundation that funds and promotes research and educational programs that help further knowledge in pediatric gastroenterology and related fields.

Awardees have developed a robust track record that underlines the value of grant funding for junior researchers. They are performing similar to or better than junior faculty at elite institutions in the U.S. in terms of NIH (National Institutes of Health) competitiveness. Their nutrition research is being published in leading medical journals and they remain productive in biomedical research careers at leading U.S. children's hospitals.

Support of this kind also helps stimulate research in disciplines, such as pediatric nutrition, where there is a need for more, talented junior investigators.
