Through the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), the Nestle Nutrition Institute provides support for this two year grant available to junior faculty to support research activities that have the potential for evolution to an independent research career in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology or nutrition.
On October 9, 2015 at the Annual NASPGHAN Meeting in Washington, DC, Geoffrey Preidis, MD, PhD – Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, Texas, was named 2016 award recipient. Dr. Preidis’ research is entitled,
GLYCAN METABOLISM SHAPES THE UNDERNOURISHED INTESTINAL MICROBIOME AND INFLUENCES WEIGHT GAIN.
