The NNI offers scholarships to young (< 35 years) health professionals such as pediatricians, medical doctors, paramedics, nutritionists etc. from developing regions of the world applying for post-graduate training abroad at the world's leading tertiary institutions in fields related to infant and maternal health and nutrition. Scholarships are available in the fields of:
Nutrition, with focus on pediatric and maternal nutrition
Clinical specializations related to pediatric nutrition (e.g. gastroenterology)
Support lasts for a maximum of 24 months. Upon graduation, scholarship awardees return to their home countries to put into practice the knowledge and expertise acquired in order to improve health care locally. Since 1981, more than 450 such scholarships have been granted.
NNI scholarships are only available at carefully selected institutions (see website links below). Candidates should apply directly to these institutions only and for the advanced training courses listed below. These institutions evaluate applications and send their recommendations to the NNI Scholarships Committee for final decision. Applications sent directly to the NNI will not be considered.
